I'd definitely be down to take a trip as long as water levels are good; if the river is blown out we could possibly hit up Claytor Lake or something similar

I'm starting to get a little excited about this get together. Justin, it will be good to see you again. Any of you guys coming from a distance would be welcome to camp out in my back yard. It will be great to meet the rest of you guys that I haven't met as of yet. Please feel free to bring any of your handy work with you for show and tell. ie fishing rods, lures etc. Seems we have a talented bunch on here. I will post some directions as the date gets closer.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. You need anyone to help pitch in with food?

I'm figuring burgers. Just bought a half of grass fed beef so we have plenty. My wife said she will cook the burgers and make cowboy baked beans to go with it. If someone wants to bring potatoe salad desert or whatever that would be great! We will just have to post it up so we don't have duplicates I guess. Thanks for offering to help out!

OK, ya'll are asking for directions to my house. From Roanoke: 81 to 419 towards New castle. Pick up Rt. 311 north. Go over the mountain and past the Homeplace Restaurant on your left. Pass Blacksburg Rd. on left and go a couple of more miles to Newport Rd. Newport Rd. is Rt. 624 and there will be a sign for Newport there. I live 7.5 miles down Newport Rd. I'm 1/2 mile past the Audie Murphy Memorial sign. My house will be on your right. It's a tan rancher with a white horse trailer in the drive. (The wife's hobby)
From Blacksburg: Take Mt Tabor Rd. (which you pick up off of 460 business) Run Mt Tabor for 12 or so miles until you leave Montgomery Co. Mt Tabor turns into Newport at the line. You will now be in Roanoke Co. (When you see signs for a winery you are about 1 mile from the county line) I am the 4th house on your left. Again look for the tan rancher with the white horse trailer in the drive.
I will try to get some kind of sign together as the day gets here. My address is 9131 Newport Rd. Catawba,Va 24070 Phone #6540 384 6711 but cell reception is really sketchy out here.
I'm sorry I can't give you better directions from Blacksburg. If you don't know how to pick up Mt Tabor, give me a call and I'll explain how to get there.

Dam, I'm starting to get pretty excited about this. OK, A few of you guys offered to bring something. I guess we should have some tater salad. Any of you homemakers make a good potato salad now is the time. So far it looks like around 10 people. A couple of you mentioned bringing your designated driver (wife/girlfriend). I don't have a problem with that but we do need a head count so let me know. We will need some heavier paper plates with dividers would be best. Chips and other munchies. I will have toppings for the burgers and the buns. As far as beverages...you're on your own. I would suggest bring your own cooler with whatever you want to drink. Oh, how about desert? I know I have a sweet tooth!
