"Get Together"...Good food and New Friends!

Well the first meet & greet of the SWVAKA finally happened on Saturday. Sorry to the guys who couldn't make it.....but we had a nice turnout, enjoyed fish tales and good food!!!

Mytoyzfishing brought a few of his custom fishing poles with him. Man does he do nice work! He also makes a great pasta salad! He would be happy to customize a pole for ya'!!

As the Catawba winds were kicking out we kinda hung in the garage. Thanks to my wife Linda for doing the cooking and thanks to ya'll who brought food. I didn't walk away hunger at the end of the day.

We seemed to be divided about half and half, lake fishermen and river fishermen. It was pretty interesting hearing the lake fishermen tell their stories. I wasn't thinking about cleanup, Jeff (uncross) asked about carrying the grill back up to the deck. I'm sure glad he did as I don't know how Linda and I would have managed it. Surely is awkward to carry. And Tyler (hokiefisherman)lugged the propane tanks up. I should have taken more pics but below is the few that were taken. Jeff fished in the morning and Tyler brought his yak. It looked like a boat yard in front of our house

It was definitely my pleasure. It was great to put faces to the screen names. You lake fishermen almost have me ready to head to SML but I am too hooked on the New and its smallies. I want to thank those of you also who helped out with the food. I had sloppy joes with the left over burger. It was a shame the weather wasn't a tad warmer so we could be outdoors. Any of you lake guys want to hit the New with us don't be bashful. I try to get out about every weekend. (usually Sat.) And a big thanks to Jeff for starting this website! I love it, I am definitely on it more than KBF.
By the way...my new Tarpon 140 was delivered on Monday. Do you think I'm fishing this weekend? Phil
