Well today my little one wanted to go spend the night with my inlaws and my wife wanted a quite day to work on getting grades entered and work on her schools evaluation. So what better than to spend the afternoon at Appomattox River CO. Spent a good deal of time comparing the Hobie PA 14 and the Slayer Propel. After looking at them, sitting in them, and talking to some people that owned or peddled both I decided on the one that best fit what I liked and wanted. I went with the Hobie PA 14. One of my initial concerns was the weight and the fact I have to load on top of the truck cab. The whole staff that was there today came out and helped try come up with the best way to load it. But the GM Tom way was the best and easiest. Put the nose up on the tailgate and then pick up the back and slide into the bed. Then climb up into the bed and pick up the nose and put it up on the back cradle. Then slide the kayak up the rest of the way onto the ccradles.was able to do it myself without to much stress. Now need to plan my rigging. This is going to be strictly a flat/open yak.

Nice yak, we need to hit SML for some striper together. Thanks irons. Yea we most deffanitly do. I know of a decent spot in early May to anchor up and fish live shad off the bottom. But you have to get there before all the big boats get there or the spot will be taken. There's another stretch I've caught fish in March. And of course there is this one area come fall that is good Then if you want to fish for LM I have a couple of go to spots. Just depends on how far you want to paddle But yea deffinitly need to get to gether and fish SML for stripers

mytoyzfishing.... Sounds good, I have been mostly slow paddling live shad at different depths, I caught 3 the last time out, but I have only hit the lake twice now. Always looking for some people to go out. Wish I could afford a peddle kayak but I'll have to wait a couple of years.

Thanks guys. Yea I have been toying with it in my head for some time and this past year was a good year so I figured why not. I've gotten tired of paddeling my Ride 115 over long stretchs of open water. Dont get me wrong I love and am keeping the Ride for the rivers.
Irons, its going to take me a couple of weeks to make up my mind and get everthing I want to rig it but let me know next time you are looking to go to the lake and I will see what I am up to.
