I'm not aware but does anyone have a Tarpon 140 that I could try out? I finally got the wife to OK a new kayak and am torn between a Ride 135 and a Tarpon 140. I was able to try out Bronzebackhunters Ride `135 last weekend and liked it. It seems no one around has a Tarpon 140 I can demo and would hate to order one and not like it. Also if anyone has thoughts on one vs. the other please chime in.

All depends on what you want to do with it. The Ride will be more stable bit the tarpon is going to be more efficient to paddle. The Ride is a little wider than the tarpon as well.

Phil, If you are going to buy one of the 2 for sure, and thinking of buying it at back country, I would see if they have a tarpon 140 demo or rental. I think it is $40 or $50 a day to rent theirs, most places will let you put that money towards the purchase if you choose to buy one. I would see if they will rent you one on conditions that the rental fee go towards the purchase of the ride or tarpon. just an idea. They usually have some demo days also, not sure when though.

Thanks for the input guys. Back Country doesn't have a Tarpon 140 at either location. It seems everyone goes with the 120 instead. I just put this out there hoping someone om the forum had one I could try out.
