I sold my Big Tuna in early march to buy the new Big Rig because my 13 year old son isn't into fishing and I liked that the Big Rig is more setup for solo fishing. I'm a big guy at 6'1" 350 so I need a big yak and the Big Rig fits that bill. It is comfort at its best I paddle in the high seat postion so had to buy a 260 paddle, I choose the Bending Branches pro angler and it made a world of difference in my paddling no sore shoulders or arms even after paddling for hours. I've been out on Boone lake 3 times and paddled hard taken on close boat wakes, sat sideways in 40 foot of water as wakes hit me and still no stability issues, tried standing in it at launch on South Holston I did it and even paddled it a little after wind blew me away from bank I can do it but don't see much need since I don't fly fish. The elite seat with the inflatable lumbar is super comfortable I proved that by sitting in it for 11 hours on Boone with just two short bank visits. The only thing about the entire yak that bothers me is the tracks should run beside seat so my fat butt can reach the stuff I mount mainly my Yak Attack sidewinder for my anchor I have to use tip of paddle to uncoil anchor rope. All in all I love the Big Rig and glad I switched.

nice looking setup. I particularly like the anchor setup. Am curios as to how you could quickly ditch the anchor if you have a problem. I am not happy with the anchor setup I am currently using. If I am lucky enough to hook into a muskie or huge smallie I would like to be able to be able to follow or get pulled as I fight the critter. I currently tie the anchor rope to the lifting handle next to me, trolley it to me and have to untie and remove from trolley to free me of it. I haven't mounted a cleat as I'm not sure where I would want it.

I've never thought about ditching the anchor I've read about all the stuff people do to make it where you can though. I'm not a fan of the trolley system either when I would run the rivers I'd use a drag chain on back and rigged a front anchor so I could cast upstream after going through a nice spot.

Yep I've read the stuff too. I like the trolley (in mild current) so I can trolley it to the rear and fish downstream too. I wouldn't have it any other way. The device you had your rope wrapped around looked like a device Jeff had told me about. I didn't know it would mount to the track system but it also didn't look like you could unbutton it quickly. I have a float on the end of my rope and replaced the ring on my trolley with a carabineer so I can ditch it for what ever reason and then go back and recover it afterwards.

Yea Phil this is the same one I sent you a while back, and think I posted the video in that thread. I am going to be getting one soon, and will be throwing it in the water beside the boat. I had a fit the other the day with all the rope everywhere on and around the kayak.
