Someone sent me the specs sheet on the new wilderness systems atak kayak. They said not to share it on Facebook for some reason, but didn't say anything about on here. I hear it's going to be a little pricey at $1795!

Ive been keeping up with the atak a little. Seems everyone keeps adding do-dads and upping the price. The new airpro max seat is nice but its no nicer than most other lawn chair style seats IMO but it adds a hefty price to the boats they put it in like the Ride 115 low seat is $300 less than the Max just for a different seat. The ATAK is getting up near Hobie and Slayer Propel money. The Coosa HD is another one that is a great concept that would be awesome without all the extras and about $500 cheaper.

I've been looking at something to hall my little boy around in and I'm wanting the Predator XL with just the blank deck bad. The wide open floor like what's in my MX is nice and it looks like out of all the new boats this year that'll be the lowest priced one.

Wow 14' is longer than I expected it to be but I am not one bit surprised by that price. Everybody is jacking theirs up Jackson raised all prices by $200 and increased shipping costs for 2015. Luckily for me they put all of their 2014 kayaks on sale last fall so I bought my big rig well below retail. The changes they made this year were not worth the money I saved. I miss the wilderness systems lockable hatches I think that is one of the best things wilderness has that others struggle with.

Old town/ocean click seal hatches are pretty awesome if you havent checked them out. The raised lip keeps water out while Wildy orbix hatches sit below flush and will take on water if you dont watch. Just my 2 penniez worth on hatches.

I haven't had any water in my ride after a year of using it, even in the pouring rain, some must have, because they updated the hatches this year. Can't say the same for my coosa. It leaks some from the top if it rains, I assume through the hatches, but not sure.

He tried everything and found out its the scupper holes. He put silicon on them no more water. Mine doesn't leak any so maybe that's where its coming in.
