Jeff, I would like to but I thought I heard it was going to be windy. You know how that can go. Guess I'll have to check on it but I'm sure the water is up.

I think the water is up, I was thinking about trying to find a small lake and fish for a while. I think the wind is suppose to be bad the later in the afternoon. How is the fishing a that carvin's cove place?

Carvins Cove is nice. I've caugh a few largemouth there. You have to pay a small land use fee. Swear your craft hasen't been in any other water for 30 days. No live bait except worms. I know Marty (Bronzebackhunter) likes it there. You have me thinking about it. It has a lot of coves you can get out of the wind if need be. I too would love to get out but don't really know where else to go. Give me a call if you are want to go. I'm up by 6 AM.

I am willing to give it a try. I probably won't be up at 6, but I can get up at 8 or so and I can give you a call and meet you somewhere, I'm not sure how to get up there

Not a bite! This was my first time up there. A lot bigger than what I was expecting. It was real windy, and I just stayed in the coves, which was apparently not where I needed to be. There were probably 30 or so boat trailers in the parking lot, and I only saw 1 all day on the water, I everyone must of went way up or down the lake.

We went out Saturday to a local creek. It was up about 3 foot and man were the waves rolling. We tied all the gear in and floated anyways. Had an awesome time. Didn't get any fishing done but the whitewater, or should I say high muddy water, was a blast to paddle on.

One guy I talked to at Carvins said he caught about a 3lb largemounth with a chartruse (heavy) spinnerbait working the shoreline in a steep cliff like area. Another guy caught a 30" or so striper. As soon as I get it figured out how to post pics I'll show you why Marty and Jeff got skunked. Give them a beer and nothing but jawflapping. It was like a couple of women out there. Oh except for Marty constantly circling my yak while I'm trying to fish. Good to get out though, and always nice with a couple of friends.
