After doing rods for everyone else for sometime decided to finally make the wife one. 6' Ultra light spinning rod 2-6# test. Not the best pics as they were taken with my phone.

I've been away for a while, and these are the first rods of yours I've seen. They look really cool! Are you selling any?

Thanks. Yea I own my own little custom rod business. Nothing huge, I don't make a living off of it. Some years ago I got interested in building my own rods which led to friends and family wanting them. Then a friend said I should start selling them. So I started up the business side of it. I mostly build to what the customer wants and not mass produced rods. Only mass produced rods I've done was 25 rods I did for a Wounded Warrior Project event. This way the angler can get exactly what they want. Some on here might have seen one of my rods in person. I did the rod that was given away at last years New River Tournament that Back Country Ski and Sports helped sponsor.

I did the rod that was given away at last years New River Tournament that Back Country Ski and Sports helped sponsor. Nice! I was in that tournament, and I do remember some nice rods up for grabs. Keep up the good work. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see some of your work in person one of these days!

Thanks guys. I'm still new to the site and noticed a lot of yall fish the New. Anyone out there fish the James much? Found a float map online and want to float all the sections on the upper.

I live in Pembroke, about 5 minutes from the Eggleston put in, and about 5 minutes from the Pembroke ramp as well, so yeah, I pretty much fish the New every chance I get. I think Wes actually has a house on the water in Pembroke, too. I think the New is just really central to most of us. I have fished the James, but haven't had a chance to float it yet, and was hoping to get out for a trip this summer.

That looks great! I did the same thing for my girlfriend for Christmas. She had always wanted a purple fishing rod, and after doing some research and lots of trial and error she got her purple fishing rod. I must say it was probably the most fun and rewarding things I had ever done, and I look forward to doing some more down the road.
