Just finished up my latest rod in time for my recent James River float. 6'6" light action cranking rod that I built for throwing 1/16 - 1/4 oz jig heads paired with 3"-4" plastic grubs. Paired up with a Pflueger President 6930 and 6# Floro. Loved the feel, could feel every little bump and hit.

Uncross, I am using MHX blanks. I prefer to fish with them over any other brand blank and cant beat their prices. A fraction of the cost of brands such as St. Croix and will rival them in sensitivity and quality. That and I like the "naked" look and feel of them. I can build a complete rod with an MHX blank for less than what I can buy just the blank from St. Croix.

sallymaggie: Husband and I are interested in joining you all down on the New at Rebel's Landing for the big group float. We live up Long Shop Rd and could likely bring wood, coolers, and camping equipment. Where exactly is Rebel's Landing? Thanks for all you do! Feb 23, 2015 11:09:47 GMT -5
