Any of you guys ever tried mule deer. My buddy killed a huge mule deer in Montana and gave me some steaks and burger. Wow this stuff is good. I love whitetail but I think I like mule deer better. Haven't tried the burger yet so we will see on it. Only downfall is he sunk about 3 grand on this hunt and its 30 hours out and 30 back. All five hunters killed nice bucks. They want me to go next year but 3 grand is a lot of money.

You are right there. I can think of better things to spend my $$$ on. Now if I was wealthy or hit the lottery. I think I would like to go to Canada and do a combo hunt/fish outing. I caught notherns in upstate NY one time and haven't forgot them. They put up a hell of a fight. I have always wanted to kill a bear with a bow but as they don't let you bait here in Va, I doubt it will ever happen. But they will let you hunt and tree with dogs. I can see understand the excitement of chasing them with dogs but it just don't seem sporting to tree them and then shoot them. Just saying. Hope this doesn't piss any bear hunters off out there.  |

I agree 100% phil. 3 grand is a lot of fishing stuff plus new kayaks. I would love to kill a bear to. You cant bait them here either. Ten years ago it was unheard of seeing a bear, now they are getting populated. Maybe next fall I can stick one wth the new bow.
