Going camping in Eggleston this weekend with wife and 19 m/o. Taking my big rods and tackle and hopefully I can slime the new boat with a muskie. Anybody ever fished for them around there? Also how's the smallmouth bite through there? Thanks

Not sure about the muskies but above the bridge is pretty decent smallie fishing. Paddle up as far as you can and have at it.

Thanks Phil. I was thinking about getting my wife to drive me up that little gravel road a ways and floating back down to the campground.

Well Heath...where's the report? Did you slay them or what? LOL You have an awful lot of confidence in me Phil. Sorry about the delay, I tried to post last night and had some trouble. I caught a couple dozen fish with nothig in the boat bigger than about 14". I did however break a very nice fish off above the bridge where you said to go. I only got to fish about an hour and a half Saturday and about 3 hours Sunday morning but I can say that even though I had half of a huge Sycamore tree almost fall on me as I paddled away from it after noticing it falling when a train came by, I'll definately be back down that way again. I was supposed to meet up with some guys from militia down there today but had to work late so went to Walker Creek instead since I work about 10 minutes from some pretty good fishing holes I've wanted to float since getting a canoe 8 years ago. I caught about 20 today with about the same size as from the river but found a few big rocks and ledges that were holding some quality fish including what looked like a 3 lb or so largemouth and I think that'll be my next float trip this coming weekend and hopefully i can remember where they were and make some long casts to get a bite.

I was in my yak since Jack isn't old enough to be out on the river with us in the canoe yet. Or at least he isn't well behaved enough. I had to switch from the regular size flukes and the 4" senko to the fluke jr. and an ET lures string bean which is something like a senko pro, it's as slender as a #2 pencil and about 5" long and it always gets me bit when nothing else will. The only problem is that i can't find them anymore because everybody locally that carried them has gone out of business. I'd really like to do this entire float so anytime you want company just send me a message.

Nice report, I saw some lures the other day that looked like the pro senko's, I think they were a river rock bait at tanget in pembroke.

Thanks, and hopefully I'll be doing the float Saturday and I'll go ahead and check those baits out at tangent while down that way. Are you fishing the tourney in a couple weeks? I'm pretty sure I will be.

Yea, I signed up yesterday. Might be the only fishing I get in this month.
