Too busy to fish much, spent a few hours on the water Friday and Sunday, other than that just work, and spending time with the wife. Have to be in Ohio all weekend for work this weekend, Should get some more time on the water next month, The wife and her college roomate have season tickets to UT football games, and I usually don't go!

Working a lot. Riding when I have a chance. Haven't been fishing since we all did the float but that's going to change its starting to cool off here in the mountains.

Have floated a good bit the last couple of weeks before I head back to college. I have been on the James mostly and went on the Jackson today. Fishing has been pretty decent but haven't had any great days. My last several floats on the James I've been around 20 fish give or take with a few quality ones and on the Jackson today I caught close to 30 but didn't measure one over 12 inches. Nothing to complain about by any means but I haven't been slaying them.

Been hitting the water weekly though some days are better than others. Fished the James and the New as well as Philpott. Have done some night fishing with varying degrees of success. My best trip so far was last sunday on the New river, caught about 30 with fish up to 15" but no monsters. Ive been focused on catching my 1st musky so bass fishing has often been an afterthought. Had a few close calls and hooked then lost a 40"+ 'ski on the New which was a heartbreaker. Hoping to be able to post up a report when I finally get one.

I've been horrible about checking in for quite some time. I backed off from all kinds of technology for a while after putting a cell phone in the Smith River and Lightning taking out my desktop. I finally built another computer here lately(I can't stand smartphone screens) and am trying to put some time back in the forum worlds. I've fished a fair amount this summer with trips to the Shenandoah, James, and the New on the river side of things and I've fished Philpott a few times as well. I was on the New last Friday from Peppers Ferry to Whitethorne. We caught a bucket load of fish just nothing with any size. I did have 3 follows on the on the 10wt...I can feel the toothy critter fever setting back in! Anywho, I am going to try be more involved here.  |

Glad to have back on the site. I know I didn't get out as much as I wanted myself. Seems like I always have something going on.
