Hey Everybody, Just joined the group. Just started getting into kayak fishing early this spring. Had always fished from the banks before. Caught a HUGE largemouth on my very first trip, so I went out and bought a Jackson Big Tuna that very week. I've been hooked ever since. I mostly fish on small lakes like Hungry Mother, Rural Retreat, Laurel Bed, and Hidden Valley. I occasionally (whenever I have a partner) go to New River and all three forks of the Holston River. I'm still learning the ropes a bit though. In the past, my knowledge of fishing was limited to a night crawler and a bobber, so I've had some trouble locating bass/crappie and using the right lures/techniques. I'm open to fishing with anyone and have a fairly open schedule.
Thanks Chase
P.S. I'm attaching the pic of the big bass, because it is the best I've done from a kayak so far.

Welcome to the group Chase. That is one heck of a hog bass. You'll have to come up to the New around Blacksburg and hook up with us.

Hmmmm, sounds like we need to get a New River float together. Good ole Eggleston to Pembroke. Or maybe Pembroke to Ripplemeade. I know you can go further down river but I'm not sure of the take outs. Anyone? I know Eggeleston to Pembroke well and it is a safe float for newbies.

If you put in at Ripplemeade you can take out under the bridge at celanese I think its 8 miles not sure id recommend it for a beginner I didnt think it was to bad but I suppose it could be they say its the roughest section in VA or NC if our other plans fall through this Saturday thats our backup plan
