Been too darned quiet here and I need a fix. Lets get some salivation going here. I know you guys do what I do . . . You plan a trip and get excited just thinking about it. This thread is there to share some of that excitement and let others live vicariously through you.

It just so happens that I am goin fishing this weekend. Hoping to dust off the canoe and get my boys out on the river. Haven't fished the James in far too long and would really like to remind those smallies who's boss!

Which section uncross? I know the New and James used to vie for top spot, but I never have had much luck on the New.

I usually fish below bn Whitethorn and big falls. I have not had a numbers year at all, but caught some big ones this year.

Last time if fished around whitethorn I saw some real nice smallies schooling and one massive largemouth. I'd say it would have went 7 to 8 pounds. All I had tied on was a musky fly....she didn't want to mess with that!
