Thanks for the heads up Eric. This was something I've always wanted to try out. Don't have a whitewater kayak and it seems they don't provide one or instruction. Oh well.

I would think that learning how to roll would be one of the first things a person would learn, but this could always be a good chance to practice. If I was still learning, I would rather practice in a pool with someone right there, than out on the water.

I would like to try it out also. Looks like it would be fun to learn.
Eric, I would also think for white water kayakers it would be one of the first things you should learn. Most of us use sit on top kayaks, if you turn it over, you just fall off. And it does happen from time to time.

Years ago, I used to fish the James River out of a canoe, so I am very experienced at "falling out". It seemed to be a regular occurence with me and my buddy, especially when we hit the "white water". We never did figure how to run the rapids well, but had a lot of fun trying.
