I've seen this measuring board on this site some of you guys are using, just wondering where can I get one. not sure if it retracts or not, but it has a little bit of a concaved cup to it,,, I haven't seen anything like it where I've been shopping at. The one I have is aluminum and only measures up to 22 inches and that's not nearly long enough...

Most of us have a hawg trough. It is required at a lot of tournaments. I got mine at kayakfishinggear.com. I got my other one at cabalas. You might check back country in Blacksburg. They might carry them, I am not sure.

I checked out Hook1 found the measuring board,,,, thanks. I was also looking for a Musky jaw grabber I didn't see one on that site or maybe I overlooked it. I broke the jaw on the very first Musky that I caught, I didn't know what I was doing with that tooth critter. I know how to handle them now but I still need the right tool

Ahhh, C'mon Harry, man up and lip em The last time i maned up Phil i was bleeding all over my boat remember, just thinking it would help controlling the big ones for nice pics. Nothing worse than losing a slippery fish before the picture

I have 2 extra hawg troughs that I will part with for $12 each or a special of 2 for $24 since you guys are club members. I would also trade for a fish grip tool if anyone has an extra. Both are brand new from hook1 we just bought too many for Christmas this year and I did not feel like shipping them back.

Save me from ordering 1... Thanks

Harry, the only grips that are really not bad on a musky's jaw is the boga grips, that have jaws that spin when the fish rolls. The fish grips are tough on the fish and your wrists. I have been trying to land them by the gill plate and holding on til I got it unhooked. When the fish calms down some, I have been putting the fish grips on it and holding it in the water while I got my camera ready. This is how I lost 1 fish so far this year, but I figured it was better than breaking the jaw. The first one I latched onto with fish grips, I thought it was going to break the jaw or my wrist one before it calmed down.... I am still trying to save up for a set of boga grips, but they are expensive!

I also see a lot of the ones on musky shows on tv use gloves when landing them. Not sure if they are special gloves or just gloves

yeah Jeff I had a small Musky last year slip out of my hands so I bought a pair of gloves with rubber on them, there a inexpensive pair(kind of cheap) but I think they would help. I keep them right behind the seat in the hatch but never have time to get them out let alone put them on while trying to land a fish. They would help on holding but would still need to stay clear of them teeth. The Musky that I caught a couple week ago was just shy of 40 and I just landed it from the gill plate. I don't have a problem doing that, just thought the jaw grabber would help on the 50 incher I'm about to catch. I get way to excited and don't want to lose a trophy fish, my net is just for smallies, a bigger net would help but I'm running out of space on the yak. seam like I have everything but the kitchen sink on there already

The big one I caught was much easier to handle than the smaller ones. I guess there was a lot more room to get the whole hand and a good grip in there. The smaller ones seem to go nutts when you grab a hold of them.
