Looking for feed back about the 115. I am thinking about buying one for creek fishing with the high seat. Seems like the best boat for the price. Any opinion's will be appreciated.

When I took Dad out kayak shopping, he instantly fell in love with this kayak. He purchased it, and whenever I'm back home I take it out on the local ponds. It's the high seat version, and paddles great and you can stand pretty easily. The only negative that I really could say is that with strong winds I was getting blown around a bit more than I would in my commander 120. It was very stable, and I'm contemplating getting myself one as a graduation present to myself for running rivers with!

I just got one for river fishing but havent had it out much. So far i really like it very stable and holds a lot of weight. Only down side ive seen is no slide tracks in the rear tank well so gotta put holes in the boat to mount anything behind you.

Looking for feed back about the 115. I am thinking about buying one for creek fishing with the high seat. Seems like the best boat for the price. Any opinion's will be appreciated. Bought a 115 RideX last Month. I really like the stability of the yak and the new seat is awesome. According to Backcountry where I purchased the kayak, they have changed the seal on the front and middle hatches. The first yak I looked at the middle hatch wouldn't open without prying open with both hands. The second boat the hatch was better but it's still very tight and hard to open. Seems like a poor design to me. Backcountry told me they have complained to Wilderness Systems Headquarters about the problems with the hatches sticking and are waiting for a response. With the stability you get from the kayak the sacrifice is noticed in the speed of the kayak but I'm good with it. A fellow coworker also bought the 115 ride with the new seat and had to take the kayak back to Backcountry because the seat fit loose in the slots of the kayak and when he was turning or twisting in the kayak the seat would fall out of the track. Backcountry made it right by exchanging for new kayak, great guys to do business with. Probably should check the seat tightness before purchasing from store. Been out in the kayak 4 times and can't wait to go again. Hope this helps.
