Got back late last night. We put in at Glen Wilton and floated to Twin Outfitters campground the first day. Nice camp sites at 36 bucks a night. Next day floated about 8 miles and camped on riverside. Last day we fished the swift water and paddled the still water to make time and got out at Narrows Passage. Ended up floating about 26 miles in 3 days. The last 10 miles of the float was frigging awesome. I'm a New River freak but I must say that float is right up there with some of the most amazing scenery I have traveled yet. The majority of fish I caught were smallies averaging between 8 to 11 inches and averaged around 40 fish per day. The biggest I caught was around 14 inches. Mainly fished with tubes, spinning grubs and wacky rigged worms. I caught several on a black jitterbug. If I float it again I would suggest making it a 2 day float putting in at Eagle Rock and float to Narrows Passage camping riverside somewhere half way, you want be disappointed. The float was so long and wearing that I didn't take any pics. I'm definitely investing in a GoPro soon. Last day we had Eagles flying over us screaming and one of my friends had a 12 inch smallmouth crushed by a huge Muskie right in front of my eyes while reeling it in. It snapped his line like a whip, it was friggin insane, definitely on my to do list again and again and again!
