Three people drowned in two weeks here in Wv. Two brothers 12 and 13 last week at the mouth of indian creek. 19 year old this evening in the greenbrier. While floating yesterday a man and a woman were sitting in lawn chairs on the bank. There two kids were wading halfway in the river no life jackets. Both boys were about 12 to 14 years old. Right below the ledge they were on is really swift water. I told them to be careful there reply was we both know how to swim. I told them two had drowned last week and they knew how to swim. I felt like paddling back up river and knocking the crap out of there dad. WTF is wrong with people this is why we have 10 to 12 drownings every year over here. The Indians didn't call the new river the river of death for no reason. Sorry guys rant over I just hate stupidity .

WOW! That's so sad. It really is a dangerous river and some people just cant comprehend that it can take your life in a blink of an eye... I got hung up in Big Falls once and believe me I was scared at first, I had to calm down and think about what was going on. It was a pretty bad situation in all that current, people pulling over hollering at me if I wanted them to call for the rescue squad. If I wasn't able to get to my knife someone would have had to recue me, luckily I was able to get myself out of trouble without help... That situation could have taken a turn for the worst very easily... I learned a couple of valuable lesson that day
