I'm tired of catching dinks so I got to looking around Saltville and found a couple public ramps. They both look like there's good holes of water up and down stream from each. The plan is to head down early Sunday morning and try fishing around each ramp, floating down and paddling/dragging back up. Does anybody on here know much about the fishing around there?

I grew up fishing down that way but never in the Yak. Some good smallies in there but I don't think you'll find bigger ones than what you would get out of the New. A lot of shallow water with pools to fish. My inlaws have been telling me about a kayak rental place that has become really popular around Saltvegas.

It's not that they are bigger but it just seems like it's always been easier for me to catch the bigger ones in skinny water. My pb is over 21.5 and it came out of wolf creek wading. I guess I can just pick apart the holes better than on the bigger water.
