Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. My name is Scott and originally from New England now living in Virginia. I retired from the Army last April and just bought my first kayak. I love reading the different forums and sucking up all the information. I am rigging her up now and hope to have her sea worthy in the coming weeks. She is just about ready for fresh water fishing now and ready for just kayaking trips. I bought an old trailer and have rigged it up to carry the kayak, bike, cooler and backpack. Here are a couple of pictures of the beginnings.

Looks like you have the set up Scott. The Tarpon 120 is an awesome yak. Do you mainly fish rivers/Lakes or both. Hope to meet you on the water sometime.

Up until now, I mostly fished for Native Brook Trout. I just got the kayak so haven't fished it in lakes or rivers but taking it out on the 7th for it's maiden voyage with the Wounded Warriors over in Rice Virginia on a lake. I am trying to also rig the kayak in a modular way so that I can also fish saltwater. Still waiting on a bunch of stuff to come in. My Blackpak and accessories should be here on the 5th and hoping my transducer arm comes in as well. I have some lights to hook up and some rod holders also. Now all I need is a bunch of stickers. I think the cost of the accessories is as much as what I paid for the Yak. Thanks for the welcome and hope to make the next get together.

Welcome aboard , my old yak is a tarpon 120 you'll like it I'm sure, FYI I put my transducer inside the hull and it works great also less chance ti have it torn off , just silicone it to the hull bottom it'll shoot right thru, good luck

Thanks guys, Had a bunch of stuff come in today for the Yak and spent a few hours fitting. I have one more box arriving tomorrow and hope it comes early enough to take with me. I'm heading up to Rice, Virginia with WWP to do a bunch of stuff including some fishing from the kayak. Maiden voyage on the 7th. I will try to get some pictures and some video to post to my YouTube channel. I will keep a look out for others going out and would love to hit the Salt one day.

Well, as luck would have it, it was nice on the way up there but, ten minutes after I pulled into Twin Lakes SP and got to my site, it started to rain. Set up tent in the rain and everything was damp. Fished the morning at the res. in the rain and caught nothing(nobody else did either so I didn't feel to bad) Saw plenty of fish on the FF, they just weren't biting. Cooked some lunch and went back out in the rain for a few hours, nothing. Played around with positioning of gear and put on pad eyes, anchor trolley and a Scotty fly rod mount along with a gear track on the blackpak and a couple ram mounts for various camera views, Used my cheap SJ4000 GoPro knock off and very surprised at the quality of video. So, here is a picture of the yak now. I may decide to put a dashboard in and mount the cellblock and FF to it and hull mount the transducer but not sure yet. Oh, stopped into Appomattox River Company. Man, I could go broke in there.
