LOL you are talking to the future state record holder for musky so you better watch out! I was thinking it would be good to hang out at the dam and then if we wanted a change of scenery we could ride down or float down to the park that is only a mile or two downstream. If you had something else in mind let me know I just want to get out on the water again.

still have a few days left before Saturday to make up our mind but if we go to the park we have to leave a pick up. If we decide to float we can meet there, put both boats in one truck and head to the dam

Don't forget about the little river dam also, if you're looking for a change of scenery. We've shocked some nice muskies all the way from where little river dumps into the New River all the way back to the little river dam. It gets a bit narrower as you paddle up the little river, and makes for some great fishing opportunities.

I vote to hang out at the dam and really cover the water. Plus that gives us the option of warming up in the truck if it is cold. I like hokiefisherman's advice of going up little river I know where it empties in to the New is a fish magnet.

Sounds good to me Ryan, especially after seeing the monster that Jeff caught right around the ramp. I was fishing last week where the little enters the New but I've never paddled up threw there yet... I'll see you on the water Saturday

Anyone do much fishing above the little river dam or on the little river?,because if you have access to the little river or fished above the damn its pretty good fishing.

Well I went out side to load my yak and couldn't believe how cold it is. I'm going to wait till 12:00 to see if it warms up a little. The wind is still blowing pretty good up here in McCoy

Well we didn't catch a single fish, I threw everything in the tackle box at them... There where two guys in a john boat that landed a couple nice muskies, when we where leaving we found out they were using live bait... Maybe next time

Well does anybody have an ice shack we can fish out of??? This dang weather is out of control for us kayakers,,, all I can think about is getting back on the water. I know there's a Musky out there with my name on it... Years ago my brother was part owner in a cabin cruiser with flying bridge and full zip up canvas sides. We fished and caught some stripers out of SML when the weather was like this but we where fully enclosed and had a nice heater on board, trolling about 8 lines. I sure would like to do that again since I cant get in my yak

I thought about rigging a small tent and a sail on my yak haha. With the wind we've had I could easily top out at 15mph ;-)
