lazydrifter I've got a buddy that paddles that part of Walker Creek maybe you know him, his name's Oaka. I've always fished further back towards Whitegate and done really well but I've wanted to try that part that flows into the New. I don't think I know Oaka. I have only floated from route 100 to ripplemead once during the super wet summer of 2013 when the water was running high enough to float it without scraping much. The water was cold for July and I don't think we fished much that trip just went out to paddle. Do you kayak on the upper parts and what do you catch? Yeah I take the kayak. There's a lot of dragging between holes but the smallmouth fishing is pretty good. I've caught fish close to 20" and every now and then you'll even catch a good largemouth. |

I spent 3 hours on the river with Lazydrifter today and no fish... Its not from lack of trying... OH yeah, then this guy,,,

Ryan and I fished several hours today, fellow at the tackle shop said if we go out on that river the rain is going to hammer ya. So we hit the river at Pembroke we got hammered by the rain storm. lol It was looking so good after the rain stopped, I couldn't believe neither of us could catch a fish, new lures & all... Musky win again
